Review: Dear Diet Delivery

Before 2020 ended, I found myself back to 1,200 calorie diet again. This time, I ordered Dear Diet 1200 Calorie Keto Diet. I wanted to try Dear Diet for the longest time. Sadly, they don’t deliver to Cainta. Now that we moved to the city, I can finally try them out.

My Experience

Day 1

Breakfast

Keto Ube & Cheese Puto Bumbong
Normally, puto bumbong is chewy but their version is a little tough for me. It comes with three pieces and topped with coconut flakes, sliced almonds, grated cheese, and sweet ube sauce. I have not finished the whole serving. I felt full after eating just a quarter.

Lunch

Ribeye Roast & Caulirice Pilaf
This was a hearty meal for me. The steak strips are tender and well-seasoned. It also comes with beans, egg, and balsamic vinegar-based glaze. The glaze is sweet and sour that balances out the whole meal.

Dinner

Roast Chicken Walnut Salad
Another hearty meal! The seasoning is on point. They put the right amount of rosemary. The meat is tender and served in a generous amount. PLUS, it still has the skin on! It didn’t make me feel that I’m eating a diet meal. While the salad is served with tartar sauce. It has sliced lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and a lot of walnuts. The red onion is strong for my liking. I think it will be better if they’ve used a white onion instead. 

Snack

Keto Chocolate Cake Mouse
I’m not a fan of chocolate. I only ate a spoonful.

Day 2

Breakfast

Pumpkin Spice Keto Waffles
The waffle is grainy. It tasted savory and semi-sweet. It was served with almonds, seeds, cocoa chunks, and two types of syrup.
The first one, which I like is cream-based. It’s savory with just a hint of sweetness. The other one, which I think is the keto version of pancake syrup is semi-sweet with a bitter aftertaste.

Lunch

Lean Lechon, Sarsa and Rice
The lean Lechon is well-seasoned. I can taste the lemongrass with every bite. This one is paired with salad – pickled onion and tomato.

Dinner

Christmas Bolognese Keto Pasta
The keto pasta is chewy and grainy but I like the bolognese sauce. It has generous meat and cheese. It feels like I’m eating spaghetti served during holidays.

Snack

Keto Chocolate Chip Cookie
It’s grainy and tasted coconut. I think they’ve used coco flour.

Tea

Day 3

Breakfast

Ham Frittata & Keto Pumpkin Dinner Roll
The Frittata is tasty. It has ham, mushroom, and mozzarella while the bun is chewy and tough to bite. It’s savory with a hint of sweetness.

Lunch

Porkchop with Bourbon Maple Glaze
The pork chop is well seasoned. I can taste the rosemary. The vegetables are cooked just right. I like it when the vegetables are still crunchy. The sauce is mildly sweet and complements the pork chop.

Dinner

Lemon Baked Salmon
This is the dish that I’ve been waiting for since salmon is my favorite. The serving of salmon is in a generous amount. It comes with a salad with balsamic based dressing – sliced onions, lettuce, cucumber, egg, and black olives. It was a great dinner for me – light and yummy.

Snack

Keto Christmas Log Cake
I don’t eat chocolates

Day 4

Breakfast

Keto Croque Madame
This is a Ham, Egg, Cheese Sandwich. The bread used was still a keto bread – it’s chewy but at the same time savory. As usual, the breakfast is a feast and I felt full after.

Lunch

Creamy Bacon Carbonara
The keto pasta is too thick and chewy for me. I hope next time they could make it thinner. While the sauce is thin and bland for me. This was served with veggies, bacon, tomato, mushroom, and beans.

Dinner

Keto Tuna Empanada
This meal is served with 1 egg and 2 lettuce leaves. The empanada’s pastry is chewy, crumbly, and savory. The filling is good! I can taste the tuna, bell pepper, and cheese.

Snack

Nuts, Cheese, and Olives
The only snack that I liked.

Tea

Day 5

Breakfast

Keto Bowl – Red Velvet
Overnight oatmeal. The bottom has white and brown gelatin-like pudding. On top of it is the I think is a mixture of oats, chia seeds, and milk. It’s sweet but has a bitter aftertaste. Then it was topped with crumbs and three strawberry slices.

Lunch

Roast Beef with Truffle Mushroom Pasta
I have received the same pasta as before. It has the same thickness and chewiness. By this time, I was wishing hard that next time they can make it thinner so we can eat it much easier. While the beef was a little tough but well seasoned with rosemary and pepper. The sauce is cream-based but thin and bland.

Dinner

Pollo al Ajillo & Veggies
Last meal for the week! The meat is tender and seasoned. It comes with bell pepper, chicharo, diced onion, and broccoli. This is my least favorite meal of the week.

Snack

Keto Dark Chocolate Macaroon
Chocolate again

Tea & Coffee Drip

Things I like

  1. Ordering is easy. I just filled out the form and transfer the payment.
  2. They are very responsive to my inquiries.
  3. The meals are well-seasoned. It didn’t made me feel that I’m on a diet esp. that I’ve chosen the Keto diet.

Things I don’t like

I’m not sure if they handmade the Keto pasta but if they do, I hope that they can make it thinner in the future.

Will I purchase again?

Yes! I’ll probably try the Balanced Diet next time.
