Holy Week at Galilee Wonderland in Bustos, Bulacan

Last April 2023, our family packed up for a Holy Week break and headed to Galilee Wonderland in Bustos, Bulacan. This resort spans a massive ten hectares and is one of the better-known water destinations in the area. If you’ve got a weekend to spare and kids eager to swim, this is a solid choice for some splashing and relaxing.

Breakfast Pit Stop at Rancho

Before diving into the fun, we made a quick breakfast stop at Rancho, a rustic local eatery that’s famous for its Tapang Kabayo. We didn’t feel adventurous enough to give it a shot (maybe next time?), but we definitely didn’t hold back on the Filipino classics.

Here’s what landed on our table:

  • Calderetang Baka
  • Lechon Paksiw
  • Lechon Kawali
  • Crispy Tawilis
  • Dinakdakan
  • Chicharon Bulaklak

Galilee Wonderland

We arrived at Galilee around 9 AM. We are way earlier than the usual check-in time, but that wasn’t a problem. The friendly staff at the reception gave us wrist stamps so we could roam around the resort while waiting for our room. We also rented a cottage for the day.

Even with lots of guests arriving, the place didn’t feel packed. The sheer size of the resort really helps spread people out.

Inside Galilee: What’s There to See?

Galilee Wonderland isn’t your typical waterpark. It’s got this fun biblical twist; many of the pools and features are named after stories and places from the Bible. It gives the whole place a peaceful vibe that you don’t often find in most waterparks.

Here are some of the themed pools and areas:

Garden of Eden Pool

Noah’s Ark with Kiddie Playground

Ark of Covenant (with mini jacuzzi!)

Amon River

Nile River

Mt. Sinai Pool

Sea of Thalassa (yes, that’s the wave pool!) This was a hit with Audrey. If memory serves me right, the wave pool goes live for a few times, 2 times in the morning and 2 times in the afternoon.

Makkedah Cave Pools

Bethesda Pool (this one’s inside Galilee Mansion)

Staying the Night at Galilee Mansion

By late afternoon (around 5 PM), we were ready to check in and recharge. We booked the family room at Galilee Mansion, which comes with resort access and breakfast.

Now, full honesty: the room was a bit dated. The bathroom could use some upkeep, and the interiors might benefit from a little refresh. That said, it did the job. It was clean, had the basics, and gave us the rest we needed.

Dinner? We took the easy route and just ordered from Grab. Thankfully, there are plenty of food options in the area since you’re in Bulacan.

Breakfast the Next Morning

By 7 AM the next day, breakfast was brought straight to our room. Nothing fancy; just a takeout container with:

  • 1 cup of rice
  • Sunny side up egg
  • Longaniza
  • A cup of coffee

It was simple, filling, and did the trick.

Audrey was all charged up and wanted another round at the pool, so off she went with her Lola Mommy while we stayed in the room to relax a bit more.

Our Take on Galilee Wonderland

If you’re looking for a family-friendly resort that won’t break the bank, Galilee Wonderland is definitely worth considering. It’s big enough to accommodate a crowd without feeling packed, and the biblical theme gives it a calm, gentle charm that stands out.

What we liked:

  • Lots of pools for all ages
  • Budget-friendly rates
  • Plenty of open space
  • Fun, unique theme

What could be better:

  • Room maintenance
  • More food options inside the resort itself

Would we go back?
Yes, especially for a day trip. It’s a great way to cool off, spend time with family, and enjoy a few hours of peace just a couple of hours outside Metro Manila.
