Hello, I’m Frecelynne!
I’m a storyteller, a wife, a mom, and someone who believes that travel doesn’t have to be fast or fancy to be meaningful. I live in Manila, Philippines, and this blog is where I keep the stories that matter to me most.
In 2013, I launched Hello I’m Frecelynne as a travel journal. At the time, I was traveling with my then-boyfriend, Dee. We explored cities, tried new food, and learned about the world together. Years later, we’re married and traveling as a family of three with our daughter, Audrey. We still travel with the same sense of wonder, but now with a little more planning and a little more purpose.
So, what changed
When Audrey was born, our way of traveling shifted. We started looking at destinations through her eyes. What used to be about new sights and food finds became about slowing down, choosing places that felt safe, kind, and full of learning.
We plan differently now. We choose family-friendly destinations that are also rich in culture. We mix simple comforts with the occasional splurge. We care less about crossing off a list and more about finding places we’ll remember years from now.
What this blog is all about
This space is for families like us who want to make time for meaningful trips, even with full-time jobs, school calendars, and limited vacation days.
If you’re a parent planning a weekend away…
A couple looking for somewhere to reconnect…
Or someone who believes food, culture, and authentic experiences are the heart of a good trip…
You’re in the right place.
Here’s what you’ll find:
- Tried-and-tested travel guides
- Kid-friendly stays and stops
- Date-worthy destinations for couples
- Restaurants we’ve actually eaten at
- Cultural experiences that feel personal
- Packing tips, checklists, and real-life advice
Our travel dream
We’re slowly exploring all 82 provinces in the Philippines, one place, one memory, one story at a time.
Dee: 24/82
Me: 22/82
Audrey: 19/82
We’re not in a rush. This isn’t a race. It’s a journey we’re grateful to take and to share.
Who we are
Outside of blogging, I work full-time as a Marketing Director for an international company and am finishing my Master’s in Marketing Communication. Dee works as Client Relations Manager, and Audrey is a first grader in a private Catholic school.
Our lives are whole, and travel is part of it. Not the center, not the goal, but something we make space for because even the smallest trip can be the start of something meaningful.
What I believe in
- Authenticity – I’ll never recommend anything we haven’t personally tried
- Honesty – All reviews are based on real experiences
- Family-first – Every destination we visit adds value to our lives as a family
- Cultural respect – We love learning, listening, and sharing thoughtfully
- Balance – We travel smart, but we say yes to comfort when we can
Where I am (and where I’m not)
I no longer keep active social media channels for the blog. Content creation on those platforms feels too fast-paced for me. I prefer a slower, more mindful way of sharing.
That said, I still use:
- Facebook & Messenger, to stay in touch with family and friends
- TikTok, mostly to scroll through trending clips (yes, I doom scroll too)
- YouTube, where I upload short video highlights from our trips. Audrey loves watching them and reliving those memories
