Is First Coworking Community Escolta the Best 24/7 Coworking Space in Manila?

A few months ago, I was working night shifts and looking for a coworking space in Manila that stays open 24/7. It wasn’t easy. Most places closed early, and the few that remained open were either too crowded or too expensive.

A friend suggested we try First Coworking Community Escolta. I wasn’t sure about it at first. It’s in Old Manila, and Escolta is known for being unsafe, especially at night. But my friend assured me it was fine, so I checked it out.

She booked a slot for us just by messaging their Facebook page. If you plan to work there at night, you can’t just walk in since no staff is available after hours. You’ll need to arrange your visit in advance.

About First Coworking Community in Escolta

First Coworking Community Escolta is on the 5th floor of the First United Building, one of the oldest buildings in Manila. The place feels warm, homey, and nostalgic but has modern facilities. There’s high-speed internet, unlimited coffee, tea, and water, and various seating options.

View from First Coworking Community

One of its best features is the floor-to-ceiling windows that give a great view of Old Manila.

You can work at a regular table, sit in a meeting area, or relax in a sunken seating space if you need a break.

They also host private events, meetings, and even photoshoots, so checking their schedule before visiting is good.

Rates at First Coworking Community in Escolta

  • ₱400 for a full 8-hour stay
  • ₱250 for 4 hours

The price is reasonable compared to other Manila coworking spaces, especially since you get unlimited coffee and water.

My experience at First Coworking Community in Escolta

I arrived around 9 PM. At the entrance, there was a guard. We told him we were heading to First Coworking Community, signed in, and unlocked the elevator.

When we got to the 5th floor, I won’t lie—it felt a little spooky. The empty hallway was dimly lit, giving off a horror movie vibe. Maybe I was overthinking, haha.

But once we stepped inside the coworking space, my impression completely changed. The space was well-lit and quiet, and we had it all to ourselves.

We connected our phones to their Bluetooth speaker to play music while working. The view from the floor-to-ceiling windows was incredible. Seeing Old Manila at night while working gave the place a different charm.
