Restaurant Review: Lunch at Conti’s Bakeshop & Restaurant

I was craving for Conti’s famous Mango Bravo, so we decided to dine in for lunch.

Place

Whenever we dine in at Conti’s we always feel at home. They provide a homey and comforting vibe in all its restaurant. Following the recent IATF guidelines, they asked for our vaccination card before we entered the restaurant. They also checked our temperature and asked us to fill out the contact tracing form.

Since it’s holiday season, the restaurant is decorated with Christmas ornaments.

Service

The service is great as usual. The crew is attentive to our needs.

Food

Chicken ala Kiev (Php 365) – Breaded and deep fried boneless chicken breast filled with cheese, and herbs, topped with creamy sauce, served with buttered veggies, and garlic rice.

Foodie Rating:
5/5

Herb Crusted Fillet of Fish (Php 245) – Cod fish fillet served with apple potato salad and buttered corn rice.

Foodie Rating:
3/5

This is my first time to try this dish and I was kinda disappointed. Their menu didn’t show a photo of this dish so I was expecting it to be “crusty”. There was no crust. I’m assuming the fish was steamed and topped with herbs and spices. It’s also salty imo.

American Grilled Ribs (Php 395) – Smoke-flavored spare ribs served with buttered vegetables, and choice of mashed potato, garlic rice, or steamed rice.

Foodie Rating:
4.5/5

This used to be a hit for me however, the spareribs isn’t that tender anymore. I miss the melt in my mouth kind of tender. Regardless, it is still tasty as it used to be.

Cheesy Baked Macaroni (Php 205) – Macaroni noodles and chicken enveloped in mushroom sauce, topped with mixed cheeses.

Foodie Rating:
4/5
– Pillow soft, fluffy meringue layered with vanilla custard and mango strawberry cream infused with fruit bits, on a butter cookie crust.
Foodie Rating:
4/5

Conti’s elevated the classic Brazo de Mercedes with this frozen treat. The meringue layer is indeed fluffy and pillow soft.

Mango Bravo – Layers of crunchy wafers filled with chocolate mousse, cream and mango cubes.
