My father turned 60 and asked for a relaxing staycation in Metro Manila. We wanted something easy and close to home, so Kingsford Hotel in Pasay felt like a good choice.
We were a group of five adults and one child, so booking rooms took extra planning. We booked through Booking.com and arranged three rooms to fit everyone.
Our Experience at Kingsford Hotel in Pasay
Official check-in starts at 3:00 PM. We arrived around 4:00 PM, but the line was still long. It took us about 30 minutes just to check in. There were four receptionists, but the volume of guests slowed things down.
The lobby felt chaotic. It was small, with limited seating. Most guests had to stand while waiting in line, which added to the stress after travel.
We booked three rooms. Two were connecting rooms, a Deluxe Twin City View and a Standard Queen. The third room was another Standard Queen.
All rooms had private bathrooms, city views, free toiletries, showers, bathrobes, air conditioning, safety deposit boxes, bidets, towels, linens, desks, TVs, slippers, telephones, kettles, and coffee and tea sets. The connecting rooms worked well for our family setup.
The rooms looked modern and felt calm. The city view showed Okada in the background, which I liked. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though smaller than what I’m used to. Space felt tight, especially with luggage.
There were a few issues. Upon check-in, our connecting room had no bath towels. We had to call twice before they delivered them. Water refilling stations were available on the floor, which helped since we did not need to buy bottled water.
Elevators were a major problem. Out of six elevators, only one was working during our stay. We even got stuck inside for about 10 minutes. Staff asked for our room number, but there was no follow-up or compensation after the incident.
Breakfast at Kingsford Hotel in Pasay
Breakfast runs from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. We like early meals, so we arrived around 6:00 AM and got seated right away.
The spread included kakanin, taho, a salad bar, boiled vegetables with buro and bagoong, rice, chicken adobo, chop suey, pork tapa, eggs, bacon, mami, congee, pancakes, bread, coffee, juice, and tea.
Breakfast was decent. I enjoyed the variety, and the pork tapa stood out. Audrey loved the hot taho.
After we finished eating, I noticed a very long line forming outside. This was the first time I saw such a long queue for breakfast in a hotel. Going early really helped us avoid the wait.
Amenities and Facilities at Kingsford Hotel in Pasay
The swimming pool sits on the sixth floor and has a city view with Okada in sight. It opens from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM and has a depth of four feet. It feels relaxing early in the day but gets crowded later in the morning and afternoon.
The fitness center is beside the pool. It has basic equipment like treadmills, benches, and weight machines. The gym also opens from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
There is a steam and sauna area inside the locker rooms. These also operate from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM and are helpful after a long day.
Would We Stay Here Again?
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, breakfast had good variety, and amenities were useful. That said, the elevator issues and slow check-in need improvement. If those get fixed, I would consider staying again for another family staycation.
