Family adventure at Aqua Waterpark Samal
When we found ourselves with an open day on our Davao trip, I jumped at the chance to explore Aqua Waterpark Samal. We had such a blast at Club Samal Resort yesterday, so I thought, why not keep the fun going? I read up on Aqua Waterpark, and it promised a lot of fun, especially for kids. Audrey couldn’t contain her excitement when I told her about the mini waterpark. That alone sealed the deal for us!
Getting to Aqua Waterpark Samal
Located at Bray, Limao, this place is quite easy to reach. Whether you’re traveling by land or sea, getting there was a breeze. We hopped in a tricycle and the ride was quick, and before we knew it, we were pulling into the resort.
We arrived at around 9:00 AM, and check-in was hassle-free. The staff was incredibly welcoming and gave us all the details we needed for the day.

- Holidays: ₱801
Kids between 7 and 11 get a 50% discount, and those 6 and under are free. It’s such a relief for families like ours traveling with little ones. The day tour runs from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, which gives you plenty of time to relax and enjoy.

Our day at the Aqua Waterpark Samal
The first thing that caught our eye was the waterpark itself. It’s small but packed with fun, and it’s actually the biggest one on Samal Island!
Audrey was drawn straight to the kiddie pool, where a colorful water playground awaited. She had the time of her life running through sprinklers and sliding down the water slides.
For us grown-ups, the infinity pool was the highlight. It came with a two-story slide that I had to try. Let’s just say, I felt like a kid again!
There’s also a nearby beach area, which requires a short hike to reach. The walk is worth it because the beach feels almost private—it’s long, peaceful, and perfect for a quiet stroll.
Lunch at Captain Barbozza
By 11:00 AM, we were starving. Thankfully, the resort has its own restaurant, Captain Barbozza by Noon Gastropub, which serves Filipino favorites and other hearty dishes. We settled down and ordered:
- Grilled Pork Belly
- Beef Bulalo
- Calamari with Herbs
The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. Plus, you can bring cakes and pastries without any extra charge, so if you’re celebrating a special occasion, you’re all set.

Thoughtful staff and extra perks
The staff at Aqua Waterpark deserves a shoutout. They were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. I was lounging by the pool when one of the staff noticed the sunlight creeping in. Without me asking, they moved the umbrella closer so I could stay in the shade. Later in the day, they even offered to move my chair into the restaurant to escape the heat.
Little things like these really make you feel cared for. It’s not just about the facilities—it’s about how people treat you.
Important Reminders for Visitors
If you’re planning a visit, here are some quick tips:
- Proper swimwear is required.
- You can bring light snacks like chips and bottled water, but other food and drinks, especially flavored ones, aren’t allowed.
- Pets aren’t allowed on the premises.
Spending the day at Aqua Waterpark Samal was the highlight of our trip. From the pools and slides to the beach and delicious food, everything felt just right for a family day out. Audrey hasn’t stopped talking about her water adventures, and honestly, neither have I!
