Hotel Review: Go Hotels Davao

When we planned our trip to Davao, we didn’t really expect that Go Hotels Lanang Davao would be our top pick for accommodation. Honestly, it was a last-minute decision after our plans to stay at a hostel fell through. And you know what? It turned out to be a great choice, especially if you’re looking for the best affordable hotel in Davao City near the airport.

Let me tell you about our experience staying at this budget-friendly hotel and why it became the most comfortable stay we had in Davao.

Originally, we planned to spend our last night at La Vida Hostel in Samal. But due to their strict checkout policy and the fact that we wanted to be closer to the airport, we decided to head back to Davao City. We needed a cheap hotel in Davao City near the airport, and Go Hotels Lanang was the best option.

We didn’t book online; instead, we walked in and asked if there were available rooms. Luckily, they had one, and the process was quick and hassle-free. It was a relief after a long day of traveling from Samal Island.

Go Hotels Lanang-Davao stands out because it’s clean, modern, and simple. It’s not a luxury hotel by any means, but if you’re after comfort, cleanliness, and convenience, this hotel ticks all the boxes. The staff at the reception were friendly and efficient. Within minutes, we had our key card and headed to our room.

What’s great about this place is its proximity to essential spots in the city. It’s located in Lanang, around 10 to 15 minutes from Francisco Bangoy International Airport (around 6 km away). For someone like me who hates rushing to catch a flight, being close to the airport is a huge plus.

Our Room at Go Hotels Lanang - Davao

We booked the Twin Room, which is an 18 sqm space with two single beds. At first, I was worried it might feel cramped, but it actually felt just right. The layout was well thought out, and the beds were cozy.

Here’s what we got in the room:

  • Two single beds
  • Air-conditioning (which worked perfectly)
  • In-room telephone
  • Safety deposit box
  • Cable TV

The room also came with free Wi-Fi, which was a lifesaver. After days of exploring, all I wanted to do was chill, browse my phone, and catch up on emails.

The bathroom was small but functional. The hot and cold shower worked well, and they provided basic toiletries like soap and shampoo. While it’s nothing fancy, everything was clean and well-maintained.

What I loved most about Go Hotels Lanang - Davao

The biggest highlight for me was the air-conditioning. I’ve stayed in budget hotels where the aircon barely works, but this wasn’t the case here. The room stayed cool and comfortable the whole time, which is a blessing in the Davao heat.

Another thing that stood out was the availability of drinking water dispensers on each floor. Instead of buying bottled water, you can just refill your bottle anytime. It’s practical and eco-friendly.

Plus, the hotel’s location is super convenient if you’re planning to explore the city. There are lots of food choices nearby, from local eateries to fast food chains. You won’t run out of places to eat, that’s for sure.

Final thoughts

Traveling doesn’t have to be expensive to be enjoyable. Sometimes, it’s the simple things that make a trip memorable—like a comfortable bed, friendly staff, and a cool room after a long day.

Go Hotels Lanang Davao gave us exactly what we needed for our last night in Davao: comfort, convenience, and peace of mind knowing we were just minutes away from the airport.

If you’re planning a trip to Davao and want to save money without sacrificing quality, this hotel is worth considering.
