Going to Sprite Falls, Laguna

Laguna has always been one of our go-to provinces for a quick nature escape. With so many rivers and waterfalls just a few hours from Metro Manila, it’s perfect for spontaneous road trips and day dips.

Our original destination for the day was Dalitawan Resort, but after walking along the river, we discovered Sprite Falls just a few meters away.

It’s a separate property from Dalitawan, and there’s an ₱80 entrance fee per person. The extra fee was worth it for what we saw.

To enter Sprite Falls, you’ll cross a bamboo bridge. It looks a bit intimidating at first, especially if you’re with kids, but it was sturdy and safe.

After that, there’s a short uphill trail leading to the falls. The walk isn’t too hard, but if you have seniors or PWDs with you, it might be a challenge.

The falls itself is beautiful. The water was clear, and the sound of it flowing down the rocks made the place feel peaceful. The bottom of the pool is made up of stones and pebbles, so aqua shoes are a must unless you’re okay walking carefully barefoot or in slippers.

Cottages start at ₱500, and they also have overnight rooms priced at ₱4,000, good for four adults. We didn’t stay overnight, but it’s nice to know it’s an option if you want to spend more time here.

There are only a few CRs, but they’re decent. Since the area is smaller compared to Dalitawan, it can feel crowded once more people start arriving, especially after lunch.

Since we came from Dalitawan Resort, we asked the locals about Sprite’s direct entrance. They pointed us to a temporary entrance along the highway, but honestly, it didn’t feel safe. The parking area was right by the road, and we didn’t want to risk it.

Next time, we’ll just re-enter through Dalitawan, pay the entrance again, and take the short river walk. Parking there is free, and more importantly, safer.

If you’re planning to visit Sprite Falls, go early, wear sturdy footwear, and bring only what you need for the hike.  Let me know if you’ve tried the overnight stay; I’m curious if it’s worth going back for a weekend trip.
