Hotel Review: Noah’s Ark Hotel and Resort

Audrey was already half-asleep in the van when we pulled into Noah’s Ark Hotel and Resort. It had been a full day: tours, transfers, the kind of tiredness that hits you all at once when you finally stop moving. We were five adults and one little girl trying to wrap up our Bohol trip with one last overnight before an early morning flight.

We needed somewhere close to Bohol-Panglao International Airport. Noah’s Ark Hotel and Restaurant came up, and honestly, it made sense. Less than 20 minutes from the airport, positioned between Panglao and Tagbilaran; it was a practical call for an early morning flight the next day.

About Noah’s Ark Hotel and Resort

The hotel carries an ark-themed concept, and I was curious about it the moment we pulled in. Their restaurant serves Filipino dishes that remind you of a home-cooked meal, the type that feels warm and unhurried. It’s not just a hotel to sleep in. It has a personality, and that’s not something you always get from a budget hotel in Bohol. The location works well for families traveling in Bohol. You’re not too far from the beach, and the town proper is accessible.

We got two rooms: one Family Room and one Deluxe Queen Bed Room with a balcony. That’s how we do it when we travel with kids in tow. We book big and make sure everyone has space to breathe.

Family Room

The Family Room is on the ground floor, and it was a good fit for our group. It comes with one double bed and two single beds. This fits well for four adults and a child below three years old.

The room is 38 square meters, air-conditioned, with a private bathroom, hot and cold shower, television, and basic toiletries. Nothing luxurious, but it was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for an overnight stay.

Deluxe Room

The second room was the Deluxe Queen Bed on the second floor. It has a queen-size bed, so it also works for two adults and a young child. Same inclusions — air-conditioned, private bathroom, hot and cold shower, TV, and basic toiletries. At 35 square meters, it’s a comfortable room. The balcony was a nice touch.

Our Experience

We arrived around 5 PM, right after our tour. Check-in was quick and easy. No complicated process, no long waits. I appreciated that after a full day of moving around Bohol.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Even the standard room felt bigger than expected.

The surroundings were well-kept, and I noticed right away that the facilities were secure and maintained. There’s parking, which is handy if you drove in or hired a van for the day like we did.

They have a wide garden and activity area, which Audrey loved exploring. The pool was there, though we didn’t use it since we were only staying one night. What I did notice was how kid-friendly and senior-friendly the property felt.

The ark-themed concept shows up in small, interesting ways throughout the property. It gives the place a story, which I always find more interesting than a generic hotel setup.

Dining

The dining experience let us down. Most of the menu items are portioned for three to four people, which sounds great for a group. But our food took over an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive. With a tired kid and five hungry adults, that wait was rough.

The food itself was okay. Filipino dishes, nothing fancy, but decent. The flavors reminded me of simple home cooking. Not restaurant-level, but filling. If you’re not in a hurry and you go in with the right expectations, it’s manageable. But if you’re arriving after a long day of touring, factor in that wait time and maybe have snacks on hand.
