We booked our stay through Booking.com, drawn in by the affordable rate and convenient location. It’s a budget-friendly option close to some of Davao’s popular attractions, but it does come with a few quirks.
Our Experience at First Pacific Inn Davao
After landing at Francisco Bangoy International Airport, we were ready to crash somewhere cheap and decent. We found First Pacific Inn Davao on Booking.com and booked a Deluxe Queen Room for Php 1,065.60 per night. The price seemed fair for an affordable hotel in Davao City near the airport, and the location looked promising based on the reviews.
The hotel is about 10 kilometers from the airport, which took us around 25 minutes by car. It’s close to several of the city’s must-visit spots, like People’s Park and Roxas Night Market. That was a big plus for us since we planned to explore Davao on foot or via public transportation.
We arrived at the hotel around 10 AM. Since check-in wasn’t until 2 PM, we dropped off our bags and headed out to explore the city. The staff at the front desk were polite and allowed us to leave our luggage, which made things much easier.
The Room: Basic but Spacious
When we finally checked in later in the afternoon, we were given a Deluxe Queen Room. The first thing we noticed? It’s bigger than expected for a budget hotel. The room has high ceilings, making it feel airy and spacious. Natural light streamed through the window, which made the room feel welcoming after a long morning out.

- Flat-screen TV with cable channels
- Air conditioning
- Mini fridge
- Desk
- Free toiletries
The large double bed was a welcome sight—spacious enough for two adults and 1 kid to sleep comfortably. After a tiring day of travel, it felt like a great spot to relax. But then, we ran into our first hiccup: the air conditioning wasn’t as effective as we’d hoped.
Here’s the truth—Davao can get really hot, and the air conditioning in our room struggled to keep the place cool. Since our room faced the road, it got a lot of afternoon sun, which made the room even warmer.
We asked the staff to check the aircon, and they did try to fix it. Unfortunately, it didn’t improve much. I even asked if they had an extra fan we could borrow, but they didn’t have any available.
We ended up keeping the curtains closed during the hottest hours and spent most of our time exploring outside. By evening, the room was cooler and more comfortable to sleep in.
If you’re planning to stay connected during your trip, keep in mind that the WiFi at First Pacific Inn Davao isn’t the fastest. It’s available in the rooms, but it’s a bit slow.
For basic tasks like checking maps or browsing social media, it works fine. However, if you need to do video calls or work remotely, you might run into some issues with the speed.
What we liked about First Pacific Inn Davao
Here’s what we enjoyed during our stay:

- WiFi speed – It’s usable, but don’t expect a fast connection.

One of the hotel’s strongest points is its location. Here are a few spots that are easily accessible:

We spent most of our first day checking out these nearby attractions. After a full day of exploring, we were glad to return to a clean, quiet room for some much-needed rest.
Is First Pacific Inn Davao worth it?
If you’re looking for a cheap hotel in Davao City near the airport, First Pacific Inn Davao is a decent pick for budget travelers. The location is a huge plus since you’re close to popular tourist spots, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
However, the air conditioning could use an upgrade, and the WiFi could be faster. For the price we paid, we can’t complain too much. It’s a solid option if you’re just looking for a clean, spacious room to crash in after a long day of exploring.
Would I stay here again? Maybe. If I were traveling on a budget and prioritizing location over luxury, I’d consider it. But if you’re sensitive to heat or need reliable internet, you might want to look at other options.
