Day Tour at The Beach Calatagan Mediterraneo

We were staying at Stellar Potter Ridge in Tagaytay when we decided to go on a beach sidetrip. We wanted something simple, not too far, just a change of view. The Beach Calatagan Mediterraneo was around an hour away, so we figured, why not give it a try?

Booking was easy. I just sent a message through their Facebook page, answered a few details, and we were set. Payment was upon arrival, which made it even easier for us.

Our experience at The Beach Calatagan Mediterraneo

We arrived around 10:30 in the morning. It wasn’t crowded at all, which we appreciated. The day tour rate when we visited was ₱250 for adults and ₱150 for kids, with access to the infinity pool, beach, and one locker. The price has changed since then, so check their page for the latest rates. Just a heads-up—upon reaching the barangay, we were asked to pay an additional ₱30 ecological fee per person. It’s a small amount, but it’s best to have cash ready for that.

We also rented the Kubo Rattan cottage for ₱800, good for a group of 8 to 10. It was just the right size for us and gave us a nice shaded area to keep our stuff.

Take note—outside food and drinks are not allowed, except for chips, biscuits, fruits, cake, and water. We ended up ordering from their in-house restaurant.

The beach itself had coral sand and a rocky bottom, so wear water shoes if you plan to go in. The water was clean, and it was nice just to sit near the shore. Not exactly fine white sand, but the view was peaceful.

The pool was okay, but it could use some cleaning. It felt a bit slimy underfoot, so maybe a little brushing or more regular maintenance would help. Still, Audrey had fun swimming, so we stayed for a while before rinsing off.

The place isn’t huge, but that’s part of its charm. It’s quiet and not packed with guests, at least during our visit. The Mediterranean-inspired entrance adds a nice touch for photos. We took a bunch before heading in.

The wifi worked… sometimes. It cut off here and there, but we weren’t relying on it too much.

Food at The Beach Calatagan

Their menu is surprisingly broad. You can check it here. We tried a mix of their dishes: hotsilog, tosilog, pares, tapsilog, salted egg bacon pasta, pancit bihon con lechon, and The Beach Lomi. All of them were well-cooked and tasty. Nothing fancy, just good, honest food that matched the vibe of the place.

The pricing felt fair for what we got. Everything came out hot, served quickly, and the portions were decent.

This was a chill weekday getaway. Not perfect, but it gave us what we needed: a few hours of sun, food, and a bit of beach time. It’s not luxurious or polished, but if you’re looking for a casual, low-key beach experience near Tagaytay, The Beach Calatagan Mediterraneo works.
