15 Stay-at-Home Date Ideas for Couples during Quarantine
It’s been 8 months since the Coronavirus hits the Philippines. Who would have thought that enhanced community quarantine will take this long?
This season has made me re-evaluate my life and goals. It made me appreciate my family more and be grateful for what I have. It taught me that love and life should be celebrated.
So instead of lurking because of the canceled anniversary/birthday trip, focus on what really matters – spending quality time with your loved ones.
Here are 15 ideas that you can do to celebrate at home:
1
MAKE OR ORDER A DATE KIT
A date night kit is usually a curated box or kit that includes materials that couples can use for their date night. It can be something that you both like, something that you are planning to do, or something fun. You can create this on your own or order it online. Check out some ideas here.
2
COOK FOR EACH OTHER OR DO A COOKING COMPETITION
Love is best expressed through cooking. Cooking with your loved-one beside you is something exciting. Add some twist by putting in a challenge. You can make the main dish, while they will do the side dish or the dessert. If space allows, you can compete with each other.
3
CAMP OUT IN YOUR BACKYARD OR ROOFTOP
If your space allows, have a blast by camping out in your backyard or rooftop. This can help you reconnect with your wifey/hubby on a deeper level.
4
OUTDOOR PICNIC
If spending the night out isn’t your thing, an outdoor picnic is another good idea. You can read your favorite book while getting cozy.
5
NETFLIX AND CHILL
Love movies but you can’t go to movie theaters? Netflix and really chill! Turn off your mobile phone and watch a movie. Netflix has a wide array of options to choose from.
6
WRITE A LOVE LETTER
In this digital age, writing a love letter is one of the lost art forms. Go write a letter and don’t start with “Dear…”; Begin with “To my darling…” or “Hello, my sweetheart…”
7
PAINT AND SIP WINE
Get relax and sip some wine while you paint together at home. This can not only help you release some creative juices out but can also relieve some stress.
8
WINE TASTING WITH CHEESE BOARD SPREAD
Buy different kinds of wine from your grocery store. Pour the wine on wine glasses and guess which wine comes from which brand. You can also have a cheese spread to pair with wine.
9
GAMES AND BEER, OR WINE?
Couples, who play games together, stay together. Playing games increases laughter and decreases stress.
10
OUTDOOR CINEMA
Put up your white bed sheet and get a projector for a cozy outdoor cinema.
11
SING TOGETHER
Who doesn’t love to sing? One of you will play the instrument while you both sing. Or play a minus one, so you both can sing. Bluetooth microphone is popular these days.
12
MASSAGE EACH OTHER
Since spa parlors are still closed now, treat each other with a relaxing massage.
13
GO ON A VIRTUAL TRIP
Quarantine shouldn’t stop you from seeing new places. Take a virtual trip online. There are many available museums or places that you can check out.
14
LIVESTREAM A CONCERT
Many artists still share musical joy during this tough time.
15
ASK EACH OTHER QUESTIONS OR PLAY NEVER HAVE I EVER
